On Saturday 26 March and on Sunday 27 March, Cadegliano Viconago
On 26 and on 27 March 2011, on the occasion of the FAI Spring days, the Church of S. Antonio Abate in Viconago will open its doors to visitors.
It' s an important Church built during the IX and X Century, declared national monument, that has afterwards been under the pre-romanic gothic and renaissance influence.
The different pictorial styles on the walls have been discovered during the 40 years of restoration and they testify the different building times.
On the walls there are fourteenth-century paints, a Nativity, Saints figures assigned to Bartolomeo from Ponte Tresa and the Trinity, recently discovered.
The visit to the Church will also be an opportunity to discover other characteristic places of Cadegliano Viconago as porchs, squares, mansions and gardens that are in a zone called "The balcony on the Lugano Lake".
You can also find a Via Crucis in a mosaic forme, made by 15 stops displaced in porchs and in typical zones of Cadegliano Viconago.
